With the further development of artificial intelligence technology, chatbot technology, which is a computer program that talks through dialogue or text, is also attracting more and more attention. Chatbots are part of virtual assistants such as Google Smart Assistant that can connect to many organizations' apps, websites and instant messaging platforms such as Facebook and Messenger.
On March 16th, Microsoft announced on its website that it would be incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) technology into its office software. The new AI feature, called Copilot, will be in some of Microsoft's most popular business applications. These include Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Teams. According to the website, the researchers improved the LLM(large language Model) ability to better understand and respond to text input by users. Microsoft positioned Copilot's functionality as more expressive, meaning it was more powerful than "embedding ChatGPT into Microsoft 365," the company said in a statement. The company also says the new feature will give users "first drafts of edits and iterations - saving writing, purchasing and editing time.
Moreover, Microsoft is "testing Copilot with a small group of customers to get feedback and to improve our model as we scale," without naming the customers testing the software. A Microsoft spokesperson added in an email that the company is testing Copilot with more than 20 customers, including eight Fortune 500 companies. Jaime Teevan, Microsoft's chief scientist and technology researcher, noted that Copilot passes several privacy checks and fixes the software when it is "faulty, biased or misused." There are concerns about the speed of innovation and the accuracy of the AI models, especially as Microsoft 365 users are likely to use them with business data in the coming months. Teevan shows his attitude "We make mistakes, but when we make mistakes, we fix them quickly,"
