The W9864G6KH is a high-speed synchronous dynamic random access memory (SDRAM) organized in 1M words *4 groups *16 bits. The W9864G6KH offers data bandwidth of up to 200M words per second. For different applications, the W9864G6KH is available in the following speed classes :-5, -6, -6I and -7. - Level 5 components can run up to 200MHz/CL3. Class -6 and -6I components can operate up to 166MHz/CL3 (-6I industrial grade, guaranteed support of -40°C to 85°C). -Level 7 components can run up to 143MHz/CL3, tRP = 18nS.
Access to SDRAM is burst-oriented. When the ACTIVE command selects banks and rows, successive memory locations in a page can be accessed in bursts of length 1, 2, 4, 8, or the entire page. Column addresses are automatically generated by SDRAM internal counters during burst operations. Columns can also be read randomly by providing their address at each clock cycle.
The nature of the multi-bank makes the interleaving between the internal banks, hiding the pre-charging time. By having programmable mode registers, the system can vary burst length, delay period, interleaving, or sequential burst to maximize its performance. The W9864G6KH is ideal for main memory in high-performance applications.
