MAX1748EUE+T
The MAX1748/MAX8726 three-output DC-DC converter is available in a low-profile TSSOP package to provide the regulated voltage required for active matrix thin film transistor (TFT) liquid crystal displays (LCDS). A high-power DC-DC converter and two low-power charging pumps convert input supply voltages from +3.3V to +5V into three independent output voltages.
The main 1MHz DC-DC converter uses an ultra-small inductor and ceramic capacitor to produce a boost voltage up to 13V output voltage (VMAIN). Power consumption The low on-resistance (0.35Ω) of the BiCMOS control circuit and integrated power MOSFETs enable efficiency up to 93%. Dual charge pumps independently regulate one positive output (VPOS) and one negative output (VNEG). These low-power outputs use external diodes and capacitor stages (as many stages as needed) to regulate the output voltage up to +40V and down to -40V. A proprietary regulation algorithm minimizes output ripple, as well as capacitance sizes for both charging pumps.
For MAX1748 and MAX8726, the order of power supply is VMAIN first, VNEG second, and VPOS last. The MAX1748 soft-starts each supply once the previous supply is complete. The MAX8726 adds latency between startup of VMAIN and VNEG, and between VNEG and VPOS. The MAX1748/MAX8726 comes in an ultra-thin TSSOP package (maximum height 1.1mm).
